Our StOry
Rain Fresh Water is a family-owned and family-operated company founded in 1984, rooted in care, responsibility, and a deep respect for water.
The heart of our story begins with our mother, Cindy Camp. Before Rain Fresh existed, Cindy was a kindergarten teacher who chose to stay home to raise and homeschool her children. When our family faced health and financial uncertainty in the early 1980s, she helped guide a simple but powerful shift: start with water.
At the time, our family had access to water testing and filtration education through work in the water-treatment field. What we discovered was sobering—much of the water people assumed was “clean” wasn’t designed to support long-term health. Cindy asked the practical question that would shape everything that followed:
“If this water isn’t gOOd enOugh fOr Our family, what is?”
Importantly, Rain Fresh was never intended to be a bottled water company. My father was selling water filtration systems, and because filters often took time to arrive, customers were given free bottled water as a temporary solution. Once people learned what was in tap water, they wanted an immediate alternative.
SOmething unexpected happened.
Customers would say, “We love the filtration system—but that bottled water you gave us is what we really want.” Their bodies responded to it. They craved it. Word spread quietly and organically.
Rain Fresh began in a small rental house in Tyler, Texas—about 1,000 square feet—with a few rooms converted into a filtration space, bottling room, and office. Bottles were washed and filled by hand. Customers picked up water and left payment in an honor box. Growth came through trust, not marketing.
While operating in Tyler, a Dallas-based physician researching blood oxygen levels noticed a small group of patients with consistently elevated levels. After searching for a common denominator, he discovered they were all driving to Tyler to purchase Rain Fresh Water.
The doctor began sending his patients to Whole Foods on Lower Greenville in Dallas and worked with us to make the water available there. At first, we delivered from Tyler once a month, making the long drive just to serve those patients.
Demand grew rapidly. As more doctors, practitioners, and customers in Dallas requested the water, our family made a careful decision: we sold the Tyler operation and relocated Rain Fresh Water to Dallas in 1994 to better serve the growing community.
Today, Rain Fresh Water remains a local, family-run company led by the second generation. We continue refining our process to restore local water to a cleaner, more natural standard—focusing on purity, oxygen content, flow, and structure—while staying rooted in transparency, responsibility, and service.
We don’t drain distant springs or ship water across the world.
We believe water should be cleaned where it’s used and cared for like the shared resource it is.
